The very 1st post for these sign business forums.

Welcome!

Why forums for this business?

Sometimes there are questions that you may have that others may have the answers for.

Forums are a great place to find answers to your issues, problems or challenges in your business.

What and who is this forum for?

Anything sign business related: equipement for sale, services offered, insight, business relationships and more.

Anything not industry related will be removed - thanks!

When can I add my business to this site?

Soon - we're working on it, time permitting

In the meantime, if you have a company website and wish to explore link partnerships, please visit our Sign Industry Links and follow the simple instructions there.

Why this site?

Years ago, I built a successful sign company website for a friend/client of mine. I saw how much there was to the sign business - lots!!!

I also saw that people in this industry get busy and have no time to maintain and manage their websites. On top of trying to satisfy existing clients, sign business owners were also looking at ways to generate more business for their sign business.

Time passed and their website did quite well for localized searches for sign companies in their city. (I have a background with search engines!). What was even more interesting to see was the amount of quote requests they were receiving from various companies in their city. From corporations, government, small business and more. People were willing to fill in specific information about their sign requirement on their website quote request form. This was a great sign, if they were interested in filling information, they were considered a great lead for new business opportunities.

More to follow ...

To your success!

I have had a problem with Mactac bubblefree wrap vinyl, It doesn't stay on the vehicle(s) Mactac refuses to take the blame, even though they have a new PRO version of the vinyl that works as it is supposed to. I'm on the hook for over $10,000.00 worth of work, to some very loyal customers who expect better. This seems like another situation like the one Avery had about 5 years ago. Avery admitted they had a problem and made some restitution albeit kicking and screaming most of the way. Anyone else experience this problem?

Pretty much all of the vinyl manufacturers will come in and try to fault you somehow, Bad install, Incorrect ICC profiles , whatever. The main thing you should learn is what product NOT to use in the future and tell everyone on every sign makers forum about your experience. This helps your fellow sign maker and it hurts the manufacturers bottom line and reputation. They won't like it but if they don't help you out this is your only option.
Also i have found that if you tell the customer the truth about the reason for the failure they may help with some of the costs to fix or replace the wraps.
